  • Stopped by for our morning coffee on our first day on the island, surprised to find such good coffee here. There is also a commitment to aesthetics. They are selling some attractive shirts and other products inside and the staff is very kind. In good weather, it’s pleasant to sit just in front of the shop and enjoy the scenery.

  • Mikazukishoten saved our day. We were checking out the ferry times at the coffee desert that is Takamatsu Port and made a spur of the moment decision to board the ferry to Naoshima, hoping against all hope to find some half-decent coffee there on the island. What a find! We were hungry too, and although they only had cookies and slices, they were scrumptious and got us through the afternoon… as did the macchiatos, made perfectly. Although macchiatos weren’t on the menu, the friendly young lady understood exactly what we were after. We will be back!

  • Absolutely adorable coffee spot right across from the court down a little ways. Nice vibe. Great service and some really unique pieces made in Japan for purchase. Check out the Paplus for your coffee or tea.

  • I stopped by this café while exploring Naoshima and I’m glad I did. The vibe here is cozy and rustic, with a simple yet charming interior that invites you to slow down. It’s the kind of place where you can take a break, sip slowly, and just enjoy the calm of the island. I ordered their matcha—decent taste, not too strong or bitter. Fair for the price. What made the experience better was the quiet atmosphere, which was perfect after cycling around the island. A good spot to rest and recharge.

  • I tried three coffee places on this side of the island, and found this to be the best. Espresso-based coffee (non-dairy milk is available! ) and baked goods to go. The vibe of the staff and the place is pretty cool. It's a small spot, with only one or two small tables inside, but if it's full, you also have a bench outside, which is pretty nice.

  • Friendly service, excellent coffee. Of the places we tried, this one had the best tasting lattes. They had some nice packaged pastries as well. It has a very small door, so please take care not to hit your head!

  • Stopped by Mikazukishoten for a quick morning coffee before exploring the island, and I’m so glad I came early—nice and quiet with very few people. The coffee was excellent, the space was cool and thoughtfully designed, and the owners were kind and welcoming. A great way to start the day on a relaxed note. Definitely worth a visit!
